Basic Guidelines - group plans - visitor

You choose your Primary Care Physician (PCP) from a broad network of area physicians that specialize in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and General Practice.  You can receive complete preventative care, including well baby and annual physical exams.

Though there are many variations, HMO (Health Maintenance Organizations) plans typically enable members to have lower out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.  As a member of Vantage, you will be required to choose a primary care physician (PCP). Your PCP will take care of most of your healthcare needs.  Before you can see a specialist, you'll need to obtain a referral from your PCP.

With an HMO, you will have coverage for a broader range of preventive healthcare services.  You will not be required to pay a deductible before coverage starts and your co-payments will be minimal.

Group Freedom Plan

Group Freedom

As a member of Vantage’s Freedom plan, you will be required to choose a primary care physician (PCP).  However, you will be able to see doctors and specialists at your own discretion without needing a referral.

You will have an annual deductible to pay before VHP starts covering your medical bills. You may also have a co-payment for certain services.  Services rendered by an out-of-network physician are typically covered at a lower percentage than services rendered by an in-network physician.

Group High Deductible Plan

Group High Deductible

A high deductible plan is a health plan with lower premiums and a higher deductible for major care, like hospitalization or surgery, which uses a Health Savings Account (HSA).  An HSA is a tax-sheltered trust account you own for the purpose of paying qualified medical expenses for yourself, your spouse, and your dependents.  An HSA plan may save you money through lower premiums, tax savings, and money deposited in your account which can be used to pay a percentage of your deductible and other out-of-pocket medical expenses in the current year or in the future.
